Justin Frazell, morning show host on Fort Worth's 95.9 the Ranch radio station, and his wife Casey established Pickin' for Preemies in 2005 after the premature birth of their daughter Jaycie.  Just three years later, their son Castin was also born prematurely. Today in 2012, the Frazell's are happy to report both children are normal, happy, and healthy 5 & 8 year olds, thanks to wonderful staff & innovative technology at Fort Worth's Cook Children's NICU unit.

Teaming together with their friends in the wildly popular Texas-Red Dirt music scene, the Frazell's decided to raise awareness for the "pre-term birth" cause.  In doing so, Pickin' For Preemies concert & their annual golf tournament, Puttin for Preemies, have both morphed into marquee fundraisers for Cook's Childrens NICU, helping donate to charity over $500,000 since 2005 and bringing together our D/FW metroplex for awareness to one of our nation's most serious health problems.

Past artists have included Grammy & Academy Award Winner Ryan Bingham, legendary country singer Charley Pride, and popular artists in Texas-Red Dirt music movement such as Pat Green, Cody Canada, Randy Rogers, Casey Donahew, Josh Abbott, Stoney LaRue, Eli Young Band, Wade Bowen, Bart Crow, Jason Boland, Cory Morrow, Kevin Fowler, Sonny Burgess, Deryl Dodd, Bleu Edmondson, Aaron Watson, Bobby Duncan and way more.
