Growing up in Texas as a child I have many fond memories.  The places that I visited, things I experienced, and events that I saw first-hand will never be forgotten.  But one constant that always stood out for me, were weekends spent with my father's sister, my Aunt Barbara.  A loving, intelligent, and understanding woman, who taught me many life lessons.  One such indirect lesson was music appreciation.  Though I didn't realize it at the time, her eclectic taste of varied genres and artist molded my love of music today.

These days my taste in music leans heavily to the Texas/Red Dirt side. However, I still love many brands of music from different generations.  It's this open mindset that first led me to find No Justice.
Probably one of the most underrated acts on the scene today, No Justice has been delivering fan favorites for the better part of a decade.  Through lineup changes and miles of open road, one thing has remained constant, No Justice delivers.

A constantly evolving act, No Justice prides themselves, these days, on full band involvement in the songwriting process.  While sitting down with the guys at the Mule Barn in Justin recently, two things became immediately apparent.  Personality, and pure musicianship are in no short supply with this group.  "That's what No Justice is.  A hodgepodge of artists.  If you want to duplicate our sound, you have toduplicate each one of us."  And Armando Lopez ( the bands drummer), is exactly right.  There really is no mistaking No Justice's sound.  A high-energy, rock-driven group with country roots, No Justice breaks the mold with each performance.

Based out of Stillwater, No Justice certainly represents the Red Dirt faithful in a positive light.  With strong bass lines paired with masterful percussion's that are always on time, and the recent addition of a full time keys player, No Justice is giving all of us a glimpse into what the Red Dirt sound is all about.

With a new album lurking on the horizon, due to release in August, fans can expect to hear No Justice at their best.  " I think it has some of our better songs on it.  It's a change of pace from the last record.  We're also going to revisit some older songs.  It's got kind of an Americana feel.  It's going to be cool."  And fans can expect nothing less than Steve Rice's thoughts on this project to hold true.  TXRDR is definitely looking forward to the release of this much anticipated next venture from No Justice.

Music has always played an important part in most people's lives, and a person's musical taste can be inspired from just about anything or anyone.  I have my parents and aunt to thank for mine.  Whether it be an older sister's record collection, a brother's IPOD that got left on the counter, or a friend that says "Hey, give this a listen.", those influences are there.  Take the time to not only give it a listen, but try to really hear what it's all about.  Music can comfort the sad, inspire the thoughtless, help you remember the forgotten, and pretty much write the soundtrack to your life.  Always keep an open mind or ear, and support local music.  So what are you waiting for?  Roll down that window, turn the radio up, and just enjoy the ride. This is Texas Red Dirt Roads.
